How good is your organisation's governance?
Good Governance is key to having an effective board and making sure your organisation is achieving its aim and ambitions. Our checkup helps you assess where you’re doing well, and gives you a bespoke action plan for areas where you need to improve.
Before you start
Make sure you've read the Scottish Governance Code for the Third Sector. It is a statement of good practice. The Code is for use by all third sector organisations in Scotland, whatever their shape, size or activities. We hope the Code will provide a standard for us all to aspire to.
The areas covered by the code and the checkup are:
- Your organisation's purpose and goals
- Leadership
- Board behaviour
- Control
- Effectiveness
Here’s some more information about the checkup:
- It should be filled out by trustees/committee members
- It will take about 30 minutes
- You can save your progress – we’ll email you a link so you can return anytime
- Once completed, you’ll receive your score and bespoke action plan
- You’ll also have the option to access 1-2-1 support from SCVO.
